Biography
Cecilia García-Peñalosa (Ph.D., Oxford University, 1995) is research-professor of Economics at the Aix-Marseille School of Economics, and since 2017 has held the chair on Gender, Growth and Development at the "École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales".

Much of her research has focused on the relationship between long-term growth and various forms of inequality, including both income inequality and gender differences. Her work on inequality in high-income economies includes analyses of the importance of hours of work for inequality and the determinants of gender promotion gaps.

Cecilia García-Peñalosa has held positions at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the University of Oxford, and is currently a council member of the Society for the Study of Economic Inequality. She has been a member of the "Conseil d'Analyse Economique", an independent advisory group that reports to the French Prime Minister, and the European Economy Advisory Group.
