Professor and Head of the Department of Public Policy (2021- ) at the Central European University (CEU) in Vienna. Martin Kahanec acted as the Dean of CEU's School of Public Policy in 2017-19 and 2020-21. Founder and Scientific Director of CELSI, Bratislava. Member of the Advisory Board at the Global Labor Organization. Affiliated Researcher at the University of Economics in Bratislava. Formerly affiliated with Bruegel; Institute of Labor Economics; and Harvard University. Elected member of Academia Europaea and Chairperson of its Section Committee "Economics, Busines and Management Sciences". President of the Slovak Economic Association (2016-2018). His main research interests are economic policy, labor and population economics, migration, EU mobility, ethnicity, and reforms in European labor markets. Martin Kahanec has published in peer-reviewed academic journals and has edited and contributed to several scientific book volumes and journal special issues.
