Biography
Mario Mariniello is the author of Digital Economic Policy, Oxford University Press 2022. He is currently a member of the Future of Work unit at the European Commission DG-Employment and Visiting Professor at the College of Europe in Natolin, Poland, and the University of Namur, Belgium, where he teaches Digital Economic Policy. 

Mario has been Senior Fellow at the Brussels-based independent economic think-tank Bruegel, where he launched and led the “Future of Work and Inclusive Growth” project. The project aims to analyse the impact of artificial intelligence on the nature, quantity, and quality of work, welfare systems, and inclusive growth at large.

Mario has also been Digital Adviser at the European Political Strategy Centre (EPSC), a European Commission in-house think-tank that operated under the authority of former EC President Jean-Claude Juncker, and a member of the Chief Economist Team at DG-Competition, the European Commission’s antitrust department. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Organization from the European University Institute of Fiesole (Florence) and a M.Sc. in Economics from CORIPE (Turin).
