Gerrit Van de Mosselaer currently works as an advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Social Affairs and Public Health in Belgium, overseeing matters related to social security governance and international and European social affairs.

Prior to assuming this role, he held various positions as a strategic management and policy advisor, legal expert, and spokesperson within the Belgian Federal Public Service of Social Security.

He possesses a wide range of expertise in the areas of social security, labor mobility, and social criminal law, as evidenced by his numerous publications on these subjects. His academic achievements include a master's degree in Law, Company Law, and Public Management, as well as a European Master's degree in Social Security.
