Highlights from the 2024 Labour Market and Wage Developments in Europe report

This session discussed recent EU labour market developments from a macroeconomic perspective. The Commission presented the key findings of the Labour market and wage developments in Europe 2024 annual review, followed by a panel discussion with high level speakers. The session provided an overview of the recent performance of the EU labour market in the context of subdued economic growth and ongoing structural changes. It offered interesting insights on current challenges for employment, wages, competitiveness and the activation of older workers. Moreover, participants discussed how to boost competitiveness and strengthen our labour markets through a holistic set of policies.
