Description:

In the spirit of the European Year of Skills, this year’s ESDE review discusses labour shortages and skills gaps today and in the view of the twin transition and demographic changes. It analyses policies to support participation of individuals in the labour market, up-skilling and re-skilling, including matching. It also discussed the role of social partners in addressing labour shortages. The session will introduce the report and shed light on: 

• sectors and occupations that are affected by persistent shortages; 
• structural drivers of persistent labour shortages, including changing skills needs; 
• policies to address persistent labour shortages.
