Description:

Member States are putting in place numerous reforms and investments to support the digital (and green) transition and distributional impact assessment (DIA) of such policies and reforms can play a pivotal role to ensure fairness.

DIA is an analysis, usually quantitative in nature that allows to measure how the policies under examination impact different groups of the population. It offers a tool to assess the results of policies accompanying the digital transition in terms of poverty and inequality. As such, it can help policy choices that contribute to pursue social objectives and maximise social returns. The session involves experts and policy makers at EU and national level, and will explore, compare and discuss further development of DIA practices to support poverty and inequality-proof policies including in the context of the digital transition.
